Virginia Chamberlin, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 12, 1929 in Mercer County to the late John Wesley and Lida Moore Kays. Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Richard Chamberlin.
Virginia graduated from Asbury College, went on to become a Librarian, and was a longtime member of Lancaster United Methodist Church. She supported her husband for many years as the epitome of a minister's wife. She adored her family and was full of wit and humor. Virginia will be greatly missed.
Along with her loving husband, surviving are two sons: John Richard Chamberlin ( Susan) of Cold Spring, Kentucky and Philip Martin Chamberlin of Texas; three daughters, Anne Louise Lewis of Indiana, Carol Marie Siler ( Clark) of Richmond, and Laura K. Williams (Randall) of Lancaster; a brother, John Wesley Kays Jr. (Audra) of Louisville; grandchildren: Jessica Caicedo, Randi McQueary, Brian Lewis, David Williams, Shelby Chamberlin, Jacob Chamberlin, Luke Chamberlin, and Adam Chamberlin; and great grandchildren: Gabriel, Trinity, Spencer, Walker, and Lincoln.
Funeral services 11AM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Terry and Rev. Philip Chamberlin officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5-8PM.
Pallbearers are David Williams, Brian Lewis, Jacob Chamberlin, Luke Chamberlin, Shelby Chamberlin, Jessica Caicedo, and Randi McQueary.
Honorary pallbearers are Lancaster Methodist Church Ladies Bible Study, Dr. Werkmeister, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Michael Kays, Mike Case, Jeff Caicedo, Matt McQueary, and Kayla Williams.
