Thelma Jean Goins

Thelma Jean Rigsby Goins, 78, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. Thelma was born on July 3, 1939 in Madison County, KY to the late Johnnie and Ethel Brewer Rigsby. 

She retired after 30 years as a Property Manager. Thelma was a member and Sunday School Teacher for many years at Lancaster Baptist Church. 

Surviving are two sons, Greg Goins of Lancaster and David Allen Goins(Kathy) of Tennessee; three brothers, Billy Rigsby(Betty), Paul Rigsby(Debbie), and Bruce Rigsby all of Lancaster;  four grandchildren, Chasity Clark, Sarah Goins, Seth Goins, and Kala Pittman; and eight great-grandchildren, Kason Wood, Kyndall Clark, Kade Clark, Anna Mallory, Sophia Mallory, Christian Goins, Ashton Pittman, Kaden Pittman; and a close friend, Kyle Holbrook. 

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Rigsby.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 25, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Harold Best officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Kenny Palmer, Burnam Sebastian, Avery Watkins, Tony Watkins, Rusty Watkins, and Sam Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Metcalf, Bobby Grant, Velma Lucas, Chris Clark, Thomas Hale, and members of her Sunday School Class at Lancaster Baptist Church.
