Lane Whidden

Lane Whidden, 81, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie. Lane was born on June 23, 1937 in Wauchula, Florida to the late Griffen and Ressie Terell Whidden. 

Lane was a Independent Contractor for over 50 years. He had a love for music, playing the Dobro guitar and enjoyed playing gospel and bluegrass music. 

He was a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.

Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Whidden(Shelly) of Louisiana and Melton  Whidden(Tina) of Texas; two brothers, Lance Whidden and Steve Whidden(Peggy) both of Florida; and five grandchildren, Cory Whidden, Tyler Whidden, Chisety Meyers, Seth Whidden, and Shelby Whidden; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Ella Whidden, Collin Whidden, Mason Whidden, Josie Whidden, Sadie Whidden, Isaiah Meyers, Jaden Meyers, Elijah Meyers, Rylee Whidden, Rhett Whidden, Conner Whidden, Paisley Hebert, Logan Gevedon, and Kris Gevedon.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Saturday December 15, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Lobb officiating. 

Visitation will be 5:00 PM until service time.
