John Laird Jr.

John Laird Jr.,43, passed away peaceful at UK Healthcare in Lexington on February 4, 2019. He was born December 12, 1975 in Lexington, KY to John Laird Sr. and the late Judy Laird of Lancaster KY. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, overlooking the lake, taking family vacation to the beach, playing basketball, watching UK play, family gatherings, playing with his pit bull (Purity) and spending quality time with his fiancée. 

John had a heart of gold and was loved by many. He’s survived by fiancée Kimberly Hammer of Lancaster; his father, John Laird Sr. of Lancaster; sister, Stephanie Brooks (Andy) of Nicholasville; nephew, Cory Wilson of Nicholasville; Niece, Brandi Wilson of Nicholasville; great niece, Baleigh Wilson of Nicholasville; three uncles, Tommy Laird (Donna) of Nicholasville, William Baker of Stanford and Virgil Baker (Edith) of Nicholasville; two aunts, Mary Newby (Johnny) Stanford and Marilyn Naylor (Lonnie) of Lancaster. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Lancaster at 11:00 AM with Pastor Samuel Schmidt officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Brodhead, KY.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm at Spurlin Funeral Home on Friday, February 8, 2019. 

Pallbearers are Cory Wilson, Anthony Laird, Brandon Laird, Jr. Newby, Eric Newby, Andy Brooks, Johnny Newby, and Stephen Zajdlik.
