Jennette Ison Obituary
Jennette Ison, 90, of Lancaster, departed this life on April 23, 2018 at Landmark Medical Center at the age of 90. She was born on Feb 18, 1928 in Covington, Ky to I.J. Lewis and Elizabeth Doty Lewis. She was the youngest of three daughters born to the couple. Following divorce of her parents the family moved to Lancaster where she continued to reside throughout the remainder of her life. She worked for 19 years at Garrard County Hospital and later at National Casket Company. Her last position was at the Adult Day Care.
She was an active and devoted member of St. Pauls Predestinarian Baptist Church on South Campbell St. where two years ago she was honored as the oldest active member of the congregation. She was a loving mother who worked tirelessly to support her family. Her devotion to her grandchildren was remarkable having provided a safe and nourishing environment for their development.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters; Mary Francis Leavell, Lancaster, Suzette Ison, Covington,Ky and Nina Ison of Stanford, Ky, three step daughters, Wanda Washington, Marvina Crowders, and Nancy Brown all of Lexington, 12 Grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren and 10 Great-great- grandchildren, one brother Charles W. Owens Jr. East Greenwich, RI., a very special niece Helen Cecile Williams Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her son and first born, William Marvin Dismeaux, 2 sisters Cecile Clark and Yvonne Lewis and both parents.
Funeral services 1:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Paul Predestinarian Church with Rev. Barry Bowman officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of the service.
Burial will be in Duncantown Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Cedric Leavell, Trent Ison, Brian Ison, Deon McPherson, Elmer Warren, Scotty Burnside.
Honorary Pallbearers are Cabal Merritt, Charles Jones, John Thomas, Charles Alcorn, Gary McPherson, Simon Norris, and James Black.
