Ellis Clay Willoughby, 85, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Stanford Health & Rehab in Stanford, KY. He was born June 23, 1934 in Montgomery County to the late Sherman and Mattie Anderson Willoughby. Surviving is his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Rose Young Willoughby.
Ellis was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Ellis also leaves two sons, Ellis Randall Willoughby (Gleah) of Nicholasville and Kenneth Willoughby (Polly) of Lancaster; three daughters, Kathy Major (Mitch), Rosemary Lee (Bobby) and Connie Lemaster (Phillip), all of Lancaster; brothers, Sherman Willoughby, Jr. of Lancaster, Harry Willoughby (Phyllis) of Frankfort and Jerry Willoughby (Phyllis) of Nicholasville; sisters JoAnn Murphy (Don) of Lexington, Mary Teater (Jim) of Lexington and Janie McCoy of Nicholasville; fifteen grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Jack Willoughby; brothers, Fred, Paul, Tommy and Donald Willoughby and a sister, Patty Younger.
Funeral services 11:00 am Monday January 13, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Cook, Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. Joshua Willoughby officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery in Junction City, KY.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, David Willoughby, Steve Willoughby, Brent Willoughby, Jack Willoughby, Josh Willoughby, Mark Major, Brian Lee, Tyler Pearson and Steven Roberts.
