Charles “Shelb” Ervin Asberry, 75, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Lancaster, KY. He was born on February 9, 1943 in Garrard County, KY to the late James and Bertha Lane Asberry. Charles retired from IMI Concrete and farmed all of his life. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Padgett and Jackie Padgett and one daughter, Vickie Bolton; three brothers, Stanley Asberry, Wendell Asberry, and Bobby Asberry, and four sisters, Freda Asberry, Myrtle Delaney, Roberta Long and Cathy Long.
Surviving is one son, Mike Asberry; four brothers, Jimmy Asberry, Ricky Asberry, Roy Asberry and Don Asberry; four sisters, Sheila Cox, Carrie Floyd, Peggy Hale, and Barbara Long; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Hillary Asberry, Curtis Bolton, Bobby Joe Padgett, Dexter Padgett, Brian Padgett, and Candice Randolph. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday January 12, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday.
Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Asberry, Bobby Carrier, Ralph Sebastian, Jim Poff, Bruce Grimes, Russell Godbey, and Larry Hopkins.
