Bertram Ray Obituary

Bertram "Bert" Ray, 73, of Lancaster, passed away January 27, 2019 at UK Healthcare in Lexington, KY.

He was born on April 22, 1945 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Alvin and Geneva Canter Ray.

Bert was owner and operator of his own company, pulling house trailers for many years. He also worked for IBM.

He was a member of Southland Christian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Brian Ray(Kristin) of Lexington, Chad Becknell(Tammy) of Nicholasville, and Eric Thompson of Nicholasville; two daughters, Tonya Spalding(Eric) of Richmond and Allison Reynolds(Matt) of Brodhead; one brother, Daryll Ray of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Eliza Jane Ray, Lucie Vera Ray, Samson Ray, Tyler Spalding, Olivia Spalding, Ryan Thompson, Maggie Reynolds, Hunter Becknell, and Patrick Becknell.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Ray; one brother, Jesse Ray, and a sister, Okie Ray.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday February, 1 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gordon Walls officiating.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday.
